Round bar, tube and profile cutting information

Different section shapes need different information during an application review.

1. Solid round bar

Record diameter, material grade, stock length and the required finished length. Include any variation in the incoming stock that the team should consider.

2. Tube and hollow sections

For round tube, provide the outside diameter and wall thickness. For square or rectangular tube, include both outside dimensions and wall thickness. A drawing helps identify the actual section geometry.

3. Profiles and mixed production

Share a section drawing for an irregular profile. If several sizes are processed, list the full range and explain the batch mix so that the proposed configuration can be reviewed against the real production task.

4. Receiving the cut parts

Describe part weight, collection method and surface-protection requirements. The receiving process should be discussed together with the cutting machine.
